Medafor, Inc., Announces the Formation of Its Medical Advisory Board

June 2000, Minneapolis, Minn. - Medafor, Inc., announces the establishment of its Medical Advisory Board of leading experts in hematology, wound management, trauma surgery, dermatology, vascular surgery and medical device regulations. The board will play a key role in providing guidance and feedback as the company positions its technology to provide the most benefit to selected market segments.

Robert Cerza, Executive Vice President of Business Development, said that this distinguished group of advisors are nationally recognized leaders in their respective fields. They offer Medafor, Inc., the benefit of their knowledge, extensive industry contacts, experience and visibility in the diverse markets targeted for the company's products and technology.

"A key part of our management strategy was the establishment of an active, working board to assist in market prioritization and to identify specific clinical indications, then to assist in the design and implementation of controlled clinical trials to prove the efficacy of our technology in each," said Mr. Cerza.

The members of the Medical Advisory Board are:

Mehmood Khan, M.D., Vice President of Scientific and Medical Affairs at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, North America, Member, Action to Control Risk in Diabetes, National Institutes of Health; Advisor to Johnson & Johnson, Inc., Diabetes and Wound Management Group.

According to Robert Cerza, the company plans to invite a cardiovascular surgeon, an orthopedic surgeon and an ENT surgeon to become advisors, as well. In addition, future plans call for the formation of Clinical Advisory Groups under various clinical headings or subspecialties, to directly oversee and document studies and research on product efficacy, efficiency and acceptance.

"The board is a strategic gem for Medafor," said Mr. Cerza. "The strength of the board enhances both our credibility and our industry position. The significance of this group of highly respected professionals and what they bring to the table cannot be overstated.

"We expect the board's involvement to be broad-based and ongoing, influencing every aspect of product design, clinical study design and implementation, regulatory affairs and market development."
